Beskrivning
This master's thesis focuses on developing structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) methods that support more efficient product development. The work will be carried out with AFRY Technical Analysis and clients in the automotive, defence or energy sectors. Its findings could improve simulation accuracy, streamline analysis workflows and contribute to modelling guidelines calibrated against test data.
The assignment
- Develop methodology for structural analysis and FEA in collaboration with AFRY and its clients.
- Use FEA software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and LS-Dyna for simulation work.
- Apply MATLAB and Python to support post-processing and automation.
- Perform analytical calculations to check simulation models and results.
- Explore improvements to modelling guidelines, analysis efficiency and simulation accuracy.
Who we are looking for
- Specialisation in solid mechanics and a strong theoretical foundation.
- Understanding of strength, fatigue and dynamic analysis.
- Experience with finite element analysis during your studies, including commercial software and the stages of pre-processing, analysis and post-processing.
- A careful, ambitious and curious approach, with a willingness to learn.
- Good collaboration skills and the ability to explain complex topics clearly in speech and writing.
What we offer
- An opportunity to work with an experienced CAE consulting team on a client-linked thesis.
- AFRY indicates that successful completion will most likely lead to an offer of employment as a CAE Engineer.
