Beskrivning
This master’s thesis focuses on developing structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) methods that make product development more efficient. It will be carried out with AFRY Technical Analysis and clients in the automotive, defence or energy sectors. The findings could support improved modelling guidelines, more efficient workflows and greater simulation accuracy.
The assignment
- Develop new structural analysis and FEA methodologies for client product development.
- Use FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS and LS-Dyna, complemented by MATLAB and Python for post-processing and automation.
- Verify simulation models and results through analytical calculations.
- Explore improvements to modelling guidelines, potentially using test data for calibration.
Who we are looking for
- Master’s thesis student specialising in solid mechanics, with a strong theoretical foundation.
- Understanding of strength, fatigue and dynamic analysis.
- Experience with finite element analysis during your studies and prior use of commercial simulation software.
- Familiarity with FEA pre-processing, analysis and post-processing.
- A careful, ambitious and curious approach, with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
What we offer
- Collaboration with an experienced CAE consultancy and its industrial clients.
- AFRY states that successful completion will most likely lead to an offer of a CAE Engineer position.
