Beskrivning
Radar systems must distinguish relevant objects from interference in complex real-world environments. This bachelor's thesis at Axis Communications focuses on algorithms for suppressing clutter and false detections, such as those produced by waves or moving vegetation. The research question and project scope will be developed jointly with the Radar Algorithms team to suit your interests and background.
The assignment
- Define a research question and scope together with the team.
- Depending on the chosen direction, review existing research and identify limitations in current methods.
- Analyse real-world radar measurements, potentially alongside camera data.
- Design and implement algorithms to address the selected problem.
- Assess the performance of your solutions and document their limitations.
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor's student in Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another relevant subject.
- Affiliated with a Swedish university or university college, either directly or through an exchange programme.
- Interested in applying theory to algorithms that handle complex real-world data.
- Relevant knowledge in areas such as machine learning, computer vision or robotics is desirable.
- Experience using Python and analysing data is desirable.
- Interest in AI, sensor fusion, radar and autonomous perception.
- Able to communicate in English, which is the working language of the thesis.
What we offer
- Supervision by a Radar Algorithm Developer.
- Opportunity to tailor the research question and scope with the team.
- Experience working with real-world radar data at Axis headquarters.
- An open, friendly and collaborative working culture.
