Beskrivning
The placement of Axis audio products, such as near windows or in room corners, can affect their frequency response and perceived sound quality. This thesis explores how a speaker and its built-in microphone can be used to identify the surrounding acoustic environment. The aim is to investigate whether environment-specific adjustments to individual speakers can improve audio performance.
The assignment
- Develop a method to measure or identify an audio device's acoustic surroundings using its integrated loudspeaker and microphone.
- Compare excitation signals, such as logarithmic sweeps and continuous noise, to assess their suitability for acoustic environment identification.
- Investigate how the measured acoustic characteristics can inform adjustments that improve perceived sound quality.
Who we are looking for
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in a relevant subject, such as computer science, electronics engineering, acoustics engineering, mathematics or physical sciences.
- Interested in audio technology, engineering, signal processing and/or embedded firmware development.
- Enrolled at a Swedish university or university college, either directly or through an exchange programme.
What we offer
- An open, friendly workplace that emphasises collaboration, new ideas and continued development of skills and working methods.
