Beskrivning
Spinorama characterizes loudspeaker frequency response and radiation at different angles, but its conventional use focuses on cabinet speakers in home listening settings. This thesis at Axis Communications will investigate how loudspeaker measurement techniques can be adapted for public indoor and outdoor spaces, accounting for different speaker types and installation arrangements.
The assignment
- Review measurement techniques such as Spinorama and evaluate their applicability to ceiling speakers, column speakers and distributed audio systems.
- Examine the influence of installation choices, room acoustics, audience coverage and indoor versus outdoor conditions on measurements.
- Develop or assess metrics and curves for application-specific performance, including consistent frequency response and coverage throughout audience areas.
- Measure and/or simulate selected setups, compare established and alternative methods, and recommend approaches for acoustic and signal-processing development in future Axis products.
Who we are looking for
- Master’s students in signal processing, acoustics, engineering physics or a related field.
- A strong interest in acoustics and digital processing of audio signals.
- Affiliation with a Swedish university or university college, either through direct enrolment or an exchange programme.
What we offer
- An opportunity to agree on and adapt the thesis objectives together with Axis according to your interests and the project's direction.
