Beskrivning
Axis uses horn speakers in a growing range of products, including paging systems, to improve transducer efficiency through better acoustic impedance matching. The confined chamber of a compression driver produces very high sound pressure levels, making its behaviour difficult to simulate. This thesis explores compression-driver modelling and compares simulations with measurements from a physical prototype.
The assignment
- Explore methods and tools suitable for simulating compression drivers.
- Construct a physical prototype of the simulated driver.
- Compare measured performance with simulation results and analyse any differences.
- Agree on the final objectives with Axis, adapting the scope to your interests and the thesis direction.
Who we are looking for
- Students with a keen interest in audio, mechanics and signal processing.
- Likely pursuing a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Physics.
- Must be affiliated with a Swedish university or college, either directly or through an exchange programme.
What we offer
- An opportunity to shape the thesis objectives together with Axis.
- A friendly, open working culture that encourages collaboration, new ideas and skills development.
