Beskrivning

Axis New Business Audio develops networked audio products for security and other uses. In a line-array speaker, sound from multiple drivers interacts to determine how audio is distributed. This thesis will examine how changes in the vertical and depth positions of modular driver and chamber assemblies influence acoustic performance, linking mechanical tolerances to frequency response, phase interaction and sound coverage.

The assignment

  • Investigate the acoustic effects of positional variations in modular line-array speaker assemblies.
  • Explore how mechanical tolerances influence frequency response, phase relationships and sound coverage.
  • Potential activities include CAD work, physical prototyping, acoustic measurements and analysis of assembly positions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and audio engineers as part of the proposed project work.

Who we are looking for

  • Two master's students in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development and/or Technical Design.
  • An interest in acoustics, product development and mechanical design.
  • Enrolment at a Swedish university or university college, either directly or through an exchange programme.

What we offer

  • An opportunity to investigate an acoustic product development problem alongside mechanical and audio engineering expertise.
  • A friendly, open workplace culture that encourages collaboration, new ideas and continued learning.
