Beskrivning
This thesis focuses on developing and validating electronic daughter boards for future space applications at OHB Sweden. It covers early development from concept definition and preliminary sizing to modelling and circuit design, weighing performance and reliability against cost and manufacturability. The project also provides an opportunity to build and evaluate a proof-of-concept prototype.
The assignment
- Examine requirements and determine their implications for the board design.
- Review and refine the selection of electronic components.
- Develop circuit schematics and perform failure mode and effects, reliability and worst-case analyses.
- Route the PCB and arrange procurement of assembled boards from local suppliers.
- Integrate the prototype with existing development boards and assist with driver programming.
- Measure and test the hardware to evaluate its performance.
Who we are looking for
- Master’s student in electrical and electronics engineering.
- Initial experience with circuit schematics and PCB layout tools such as KiCad.
- Understanding of electronic circuits and components, including memories, ADCs and power converters.
- Experience with SPICE simulations, for example for operational amplifier circuits and filters.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes and multimeters.
- Scripting skills, for example in Python.
- Relevant experience may come from coursework, extracurricular activities or independent learning.
What we offer
- A place in the Avionics and Electrical team, contributing to the Innosat avionics architecture.
- Practical experience developing and testing real hardware for space applications.
- Close collaboration with experienced engineers involved in current and future space missions.
- Successful completion may lead to future employment opportunities within the team.
Practical details
Location: Kista. The position is intended for one master’s student. Start date, duration and application deadline are not specified.
Förkunskapskrav
Applicants should be master’s students in electrical and electronics engineering with introductory experience in schematics, PCB routing, electronic circuits, SPICE simulation, laboratory testing and scripting such as Python. Experience gained through university courses, extracurricular projects or self-study is relevant.
